JNV is a co-educational School, JNV is run by the central government and is fully funded by the education ministry. In every district of India there is one JNV and some of the districts have two JNV. Also hostels in JNV are divided into four houses Aravali house, Nilgiri house, Shivalik house and Udaygiri house. These are named after the mountains of a country.
Separate hostels are there for boys and girls every hostels has their Housemasters and the teacher of the Vidyalaya is appointed as the House Masters.
He or she looks after the safety and security of the students and maintains the attendance, the discipline, the cleanliness of the hostel. House meeting is held twice a month and problems are discussed.
Hostels in Jnv are well equipped with Bedding items, indoor games facilities, Study table and chair and teachers are always available to assist.
